Another Starwood Hotel will be opening soon in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State. The 12 storey hotel is being built by the Renaissance Construction Group and is expected to have 128 rooms, 2 presidential suites, 16 suites. This complex also includes meeting rooms, a SPA center, night clubs, elegantly furnished restaurants, a swimming pool, a tennis court, and a rooftop café and is expected to be opened on October 15th, 2015.
Ikot Ekpene is one of the commercial cities in Akwa Ibom State and popularly as the Raffia City. It is located with close proximity to Aba another busy commercial city, 20 minutes drive from Uyo the state capital, which recently opened its doors to sports tourism with a state of the art Akwa Ibom International stadium under the leadership of Governor Godswill Akpabio. Ikot Ekpene is also 45 minutes drive from the Akwa Ibom International Airport and about an hour drive from Calabar – a popular tourist destination.
This will be the second Starwood Hotel in Akwa Ibom State owned by the Akwa Ibom State government. It’s sister hotel, Le Meridien Hotels and Resort is located in Uyo and has been in operation since 2007. According to Yahoo news, the hotel will be reflecting the Four Points By Sheraton brand’s promise and insight into the needs of today’s traveller, offering all of the brand’s defining elements, including the signature Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort bed and free bottled water in the room, complimentary Wi-Fi in all public areas, a delicious breakfast with great coffee and refreshing local beer with Best Brews, helping guests to start and end the day right.
